TAKING STEPS TOWARDS WOMEN EMPOWERMENT VIA PODCASTS

On the back of International Women’s Day, Networking in Heels has taken a cue to empower women by hosting a series of periodic podcasts aimed at exploring their potential, especially in entrepreneurship, and supporting their network systems. The Career Cruise podcast aims to extend conversations further than the events and to reach audiences in Kenya and beyond.

Networking in heels founder & CEO Violette Wambua ( centre ) is helped cut the cake by the Branch International of East Africa CEO Rose Muturi ( left) and Centenary Microenterprise – CEMES, CEO Nancy Kinyanjui during this year’s Conference in a Nairobi hotel about the Power of Investment among the Women.

Networking in Heels Founder & CEO, Violette Wambua, challenged women to come forward and share their stories through the association’s podcast network, showcasing their potential in business and entrepreneurship to the public. She is open to hosting those who wish to share their stories to impact a wider audience. The podcast can be found on all platforms.

“Taking cue from the women who have gone before us, I am glad to have hosted this year’s first conference, where the theme is #InvestInWomen and women in the financial sector were the key speakers,” said Violette.

The keynote speakers were Nancy Kinyanjui, CEO of Centenary Microenterprise (CEMES); Rose Muturi, Managing Director of Branch International East Africa, a digital lending institution; and Anna Njoroge, CEO &Founder of Ythera Beauty, also a Finance Consultant.

The trio spoke on unlocking different potentials among women by monetizing their financial status and engaging in frequent networking to attract support systems, which opens many doors in the world of entrepreneurship.

Nancy emphasized CEMES’ focus on empowering women, especially those in micro and medium enterprises (MSMEs), on accessing credit and financing their businesses. She stressed the importance of building support networks and investing in self-care activities, emphasizing that happy women have a good impact on the society.

Rose Muturi of Branch International East Africa highlighted the importance of realizing one’s potential in stabilizing financial solutions, noting that innovation is here to stay and revolutionize how financial solutions are monetized.

Anna Njoroge of Ythera Beauty spoke about embracing beauty and the value of African women. She advised women on setting boundaries, learning to listen, and protecting their own expectations. She emphasized the power of influence and time management, urging women not to wait for perfection but to proceed with their business ideas.

In conclusion, the speakers discussed how women can thrive in business and compete in their different sectors, emphasizing the need to embrace values that transcend investing in oneself and accommodating each other’s relevance within a community.

The next Networking in Heels event, the Wellness Edition, is slated for July 4th, and will be at the Lenana Swiss Mount Hotel, Ralph Bunche Road. Violette expressed the need to embrace the importance and impact of wellness in people’s lives.
